Living in Salinas I constantly worry about peer pressure and the violence that my kids will likely encounter in school. My daughter is now in College and my son is in high school, yet I am confident that Jiu Jitsu has provided my kids the skills (both mental and physical) that they need to overcome any stressful situation they may encounter at school or in life period. At Salinas Jiu Jitsu we don’t teach kids to fight. Rather we teach kids to have confidence and self-control.

After taking one Jiu Jitsu class at the age of 9, my daughter decided it was more fun than ballet, so she traded her tutu for a gi and never looked back.  My son started Jiu Jitsu at the age of 7 and his favorite part is training with his friends and competing at tournaments with his friends. I recently learned they both had an encounter (on separate occasions) with a bully in school, but they were able to deal with the situation in an effective and efficient manner without a physical altercation.

Personally, I've never been an athletic person, but I knew I needed to lead a healthier lifestyle. I went to the gym, but didn't know how much I was limiting myself until I realized I didn't know everything (shocker, huh?) and asked Adrian for help. Sure I knew he was certified, but it wasn't until I saw and felt the results that I started to trust the process and knew that a combination of weights and cardio was the way to go for me. Everyone is different, and I can personally attest to Coach Adrian's commitment to creating a program that will lead you to your goals. He can accommodate an injury or other obstacle that might otherwise prevent you from exercising.

I went from getting shin splins every time I ran and squatting with 25lb dumbells to competing in a powerlifting competition and squatting over 200lbs, deadlifting over 300lbs, slimming down over 2 sizes and feeling stronger and healthier than ever.  Push your perceived limits and Join us!
